Education and the ODA

In addition to developing CAD infrastructure, the ODA also strives to stimulate CAD/CAM research by making its software libraries available free of charge to educational institutes and students researching CAD/CAM and engineering software. In some cases the ODA Board of Directors will grant access to the source code to allow research and development of specific algorithms used in engineering software. Students and educational institutes are encouraged to submit their finished projects to the ODA Educational Showcase. Each year the ODA will award a prize for the best project submitted. To obtain educational access to the ODA libraries:

  1. Download the Educational Membership Agreement, and attachment, complete both, sign them, and send all the pages to the ODA via fax or postal mail.
  2. After your agreement is approved, the ODA will send you login details for the ODA Member Area.
  3. If you want to work with the source code, contact the ODA administration.
