ODA Announces New Fee Structure

The Open Design Alliance (ODA) announces revised membership fees, which directly support development of the CAD technology that it supplies to its members. The new fee structure will begin January 1, 2008.

Along with a mindful increase to member fees, the ODA Board of Directors during a special meeting held earlier this month, renewed its commitment to further increasing the value delivered to members by scaling up investments in engineering, quality assurance, and technology infrastructure — all of which in the past year have proved successful in the growing success of software releases and increased membership. The initiative to increase development investment along with member fees positions the ODA to achieve its long-term commitment of strengthening and further extending the DWGdirect and DGNdirect software libraries to promote the open exchange of DWG and DGN data.

Arnold van der Weide, President of the Open Design Alliance, remarked on the recent decisions made by the ODA Board of Directors. He commented, “The Board of Directors has a vision for both the purpose of the ODA in the CAD industry and the value provided to members. As a result, the board voted for a modest increase in membership fees to properly finance the next level of planned growth for the organization.” Mr. van der Weide added, “As we increase investment in product development and quality assurance, we continue to supply our members with high-performing, reliable, and robust CAD technology.”
